How It Works

A Look At My
Approach & Process

Working with a sleep coach should never feel like you’re opening a black box.

Navigating the sea of polarized opinions…

The baby sleep space has become a battleground.

Opinions are so polarized. Everything online has become extreme, theories are presented as settled science, and parents are left anxious and second-guessing every choice.

To be clear: Research and science matters. And new evidence is worth paying attention to.

But so does your intuition…

I hear from parents who use words like “miserable” and “suffering” when describing their sleep routines and arrangements. Amongst the noise and fear mongering, they’ve lost touch with what matters most: what actually feels right for you and your family?

I don’t believe there’s one right way to sleep. If what you’re doing isn’t working anymore, it’s OK to want something to change. And wanting change doesn’t mean you have to leave your baby to cry alone.

Remember: There’s a wide middle ground between the most extreme versions of sleep training and doing nothing at all. That’s where I help families find their way.

The 4 Levers of Sleep

I take a holistic, structured approach to improving baby sleep.
We go only as far as your family’s goals and comfort level call for.

PHASE I

1. Schedule + 24-Hour Sleep Needs

  • A tailored schedule built from your child’s actual 24-hour sleep needs, not an average from a chart.
  • Healthy sleep hygiene, including a consistent wake-up time and sleep-wake rhythm.
  • The right balance of daytime and nighttime sleep for your child.

2. Routine & Environment

  • A sleep space optimized to be dark, quiet, and the right temperature.
  • A wind-down routine tailored to your child and their temperament.
  • Especially important for toddlers, where finding the routine that works for them can make all the difference.

PHASE II

3. How a child falls asleep at bedtime

  • Changing the support your child needs to fall asleep at bedtime.
  • Options range from swapping one form of support for another, to gradual parent-present methods, to more traditional sleep training methods.
  • The method and pace are set by your comfort level.

4. Night Weaning

  • Weaning remaining night feeds, only when it’s age-appropriate.
  • Always with the approval of your child’s doctor or feeding specialist.
  • Not always a goal for families, that’s OK.

I can’t tell you what’s right for your family. That’s your call. These are simply the levers available, and where you land is up to you.

What You Won’t
Find Here

A lot of baby sleep advice starts with a method and works backwards. I start with your child and your goals.

❌Generic Schedules

Your child’s schedule will never come from a wake window chart. It’s built from a deep dive into at least 6 days of sleep tracking, tailored to your child’s actual needs.

❌One Rigid Method

I don’t have a signature method, but I don’t label myself as “gentle” either. I use a range of approaches, we choose and modify based on what fits your family’s values and goals.

❌Judgment about where your child sleeps

Crib, bed-sharing, room-sharing, floor bed: I work with every arrangement. If you want to change it, we can. If you want better sleep without changing it, we can work on that too.

❌Sleep training as the goal

Sleep training is never a goal in itself. We always start with schedule, environment, and routine. Many families see progress before we ever touch Phase II.

❌Pressure to do it “my way”

My job isn’t to convince you of one “right” way to sleep. It’s to help you cut through the noise and figure out what feels right for your family.

What Happens When You Work With Me

No mystery.
Here’s every step that happens when you reach out to book a Standard Sleep Plan for your baby.

☎️Discovery Convo [Free]

We’ll chat briefly usually over phone or email about what’s going on with your baby’s sleep, and what you’re hoping for, to see if we’re a good fit.

I’ll also ask about feeding, health, and any red flags, since medical or feeding issues need to be ruled out before we work together.

✏️Sleep Assessment + Diary

You’ll fill out a detailed questionnaire covering your child’s sleep history, health, and daily routine. Don’t change anything yet.

If you don’t have recent sleep data, I’ll ask you to track your child’s sleep for 6 days.

📋Your Custom Sleep Plan + Consult Call

I build a custom plan from your child’s data, working through the levers in order.

We go through it together, I explain the why behind every part, and we adjust it live based on your feedback.

🙋‍♀️Implementation with 1:1 support [2 weeks]

You put the plan into action, and you’re not doing it alone.

Keep logging, text me your questions, and I review your data and tweak the plan as we go. Consistency is where the change happens, and I’m there to help you stick with it.

🕙Need more time: Add a week of support: Extra sleep data review, updated recommendations and text support.
